WHAT TO EXPECT
Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.
Our new, technologically advanced power train assembly facilities are currently under design and manufacture, to support the Jaguar Land Rover global powertrain initiatives. As Test Engineer you’ll work as part of the team responsible for the development and introduction of new and modified processes at these facilities. You’ll join us at an exciting time for our business and play a key part in supporting future engine developments for the complete range of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
As a Test Engineer you'll work closely with Product Development Engineers, facility vendors, and tooling suppliers to ensure that component and whole engine designs meet world class quality and efficiency standards. You’ll be required to support the Dyno Test Teams with the upgrade and introduction of the latest test standards and also the Plant Quality Team with the delivery of all Product Validation and audit tests.
Ensuring all Dyno Test Facilities meet with current certification standards, you will also support Test Cell upgrades to meet new and existing program needs. This is a broad role that will require you to introduce a number of testing processes across multiple programme areas to ensure best practice and compliance standards are met.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll have in-depth knowledge of Dyno Test Cells set up and test procedures, including experience of Engine Test. Ideally you’ll be educated to a Degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline and have an understanding of toolsets such as AVL Puma and/or ETAS INCA. To ensure efficient running of the operation you’ll need the ability to implement change effectively with the use of planning and timing tools to deliver on-going projects
To provide accurate project and status updates you’ll need the ability to create reports, analyse, and interpret statistical data based on various key metrics. You’ll be a strong communicator, both written & verbally, and have the confidence to present to stakeholders at all levels.
With effective leadership skills, you’ll have the ability to coordinate and support groups of people through complex processes in a fast paced and demanding environment. You’ll be highly motivated and proactive individual, with the flexibility to travel within UK and overseas to support facility buy offs and Jaguar Land Rover Global Test Facilities for extended periods of time.
