WHAT TO EXPECT

You‘ll enter a dedicated Global Technical Training Development team of professional training design specialists within the Global Network Learning department. We hold the responsibility of developing and maintaining a fully competent retailer network capable of consistently delivering an outstanding life-time ownership experience for our customers - worldwide. The JLR Global Retailer Competencies are used to define the content of the global core curricula, new product launch training and certification assessments. These form part of a technician’s learning journey, thus your contribution to the design of these assets will shape, develop and enable our service network technicians.

Alone or within a project team, you’ll be responsible for the design, often from scratch, of the entire training package. This includes all theoretical and practical training session design, the writing and editing of the trainer and student guides and design of all supporting materials including animation, digital applications and simulation rigs etc as well as researching necessary vehicle information with our colleagues in Product Development Engineering and Global Marketing departments. You’ll validate vehicle system operation, diagnosis and activities on our dedicated training fleet and workshops and deliver a ‘Train the Trainer’ training session running your completed project from start to finish with international training colleagues.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Those who are likely to excel most in this role will have the ability and discipline to investigate complex, technical information, determine the key ‘back to work’ messages that will improve a technician’s work performance and design training content and methods that convey their message with clarity in an engaging way.

We are searching for additional colleagues with a background and qualification within technical service, most likely having been a Vehicle Technician at the top of his/her electrical and mechanical aptitude with proven skills in the effective diagnosis and repair of faults.

Further, a qualification in adult learning, Further Education teaching or similar would be very advantageous and experience as a Technical Trainer a key benefit.

A significant part of role requires the use of IT and you will therefore need to be comfortable and experienced in MS Office applications or their equivalent and be capable of learning how to use specific development and author based applications given appropriate training and support.
