Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Quality is what we stand for. We manufacture premium vehicles to the highest quality standard and to delivery schedules set out by the logistics and planning functions, which are driven by customer demand.

As Systems Robustness Engineer, you’ll be joining our System Robustness Team (SRT) which operates within the Engineering CoCs.

A skilled engineer, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) for our systems in support of new model programmes including the generation and update of robust DFMEAs and related documentation for high risk systems. You’ll support the commodity strategies to ensure that they have a credible FMA plan and the required countermeasures to avoid known architectural customer issues.

In this capacity, you’ll also act as the single point of contact for the commodity area for all aspects of Failure Mode Avoidance. Additionally, you’ll develop new or improved Requirements / Design Rules and help identify gaps in the above documentation by use of Failure Mode Avoidance tool use (e.g. DFMEA).

Finally, you’ll ensure that lessons are learned from in-service and development phase issue through the facilitation of comprehensive Quality History and the approval of Prevent Recurrence AIMs.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Having been involved with engineering, you’ll have a technical appreciation of automotive systems, and this should be complemented by a minimum of a Degree (or similar) in an engineering-type vocation.

You’ll have an excellent understanding of Quality Tools, with a particular focus on systems engineering and related engineering analysis methodology and tools providing a strong customer focus and an understanding of their needs and wants.

A clear communicator both verbally and in writing, you’ll show confidence as you discuss ideas and feedback to higher management and stakeholders within PE and the wider business. You’ll also have the ability to motivate and drive cross-functional teams to ensure failure modes are not released to customers.

Besides strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex issues in a brief and straightforward manner, you’ll be proactive and capable of working with minimum supervision. Finally, you’ll be comfortable with occasional inter-site travel.

The successful candidate for the above role will retain their current employer, i.e. if you are a Jaguar employee you will continue to be administered on the Jaguar grading structure with the associated terms and conditions. If you are a Land Rover employee you will continue to be administered on the Land Rover grading structure with the associated terms and conditions.

Jaguar Land Rover considers that this role does not meet the criteria to be considered within the Home Office Shortage Occupation list.  Therefore, Jaguar Land Rover will not support an application for visa sponsorship and all applicants for this role must have an unrestricted right to work for an indefinite period in the UK.
