Salary:  £40,000 - £46,000

This role is also eligible for other additional allowances to base salary.

The engineering within Jaguar Land Rover is a world of complex cross-functional systems of mechanical, electrical and software-enabled features. As part of the Vehicle Engineering organisation, you’ll report to the Architecture Systems Integration Manager and support them in the deployment and application of the end-to-end Systems Engineering process. You’ll oversee the features and systems that make up our next generation of products, taking them from concept definition through to system verification and signoff. By acting as engineer, advisor and coach, working with teams from across the business, you’ll review the detailed design documents and specifications to ensure features and systems meet the expectations of our customers and are robustly engineered and integrated.

 

In your role, you’ll help define and improve the JLR Systems Engineering process, reviewing features and systems to ensure process conformance and quality of design is met, chairing system design reviews. You’ll co-ordinate the production of feature engineering documentation and specifications to support feature conception and definition.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

In this role, you'll have knowledge of the end-to-end systems engineering process, preferably within a related industry (e.g. automotive, aerospace, defence) and experience of requirements elicitation, derivation and management. You’ll understand Systems Engineering theory and have experience of its practical application. Ideally you should also come to this role with exposure to system functional analysis and architecting, an understanding of why it’s important and an awareness of model-based systems engineering.

 

In addition, you’ll have a record of systems integration, ideally integration of electromechanical systems, as well as experience of managing verification and validation through the use of incremental testing on vehicles and rig-based facilities. The ability to coach others and convert technical theory into practical application. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
