The role of ADAS System/Subsystem Engineer is based within the ADAS Systems and Subsystems Engineering group in Electrical Engineering. The ADAS Systems and Subsystems group is responsible to complete all the system engineering deliverables required to design and deliver driver assistance features based on video, radar, and ultrasonic technologies such as lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam control, intelligent emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, intelligent speed limiter, rear view, junction view, cross-traffic alert, 360-degree plan view, lane change/merge aid, park assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and highway assist.
As the Systems Engineer, you’ll be responsible for design and development of electrical ADAS systems and subsystems along with software delivery, aiming to achieve on-time engineering sign-off in line with Jaguar Land Rover programme milestone requirements. Within your remit you’ll also be required to ensure robustness of the software functionality and delivery in line with DOORS requirements effectively preventing post-Job1 or in-service quality actions.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As a skilled Engineer, you'll need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and suppliers. Besides the capability to communicate and problem-solve in a complex environment, you should also demonstrate skill in electronics software and hardware delivery, testing, and engineering sign-off. Strong specification development skills together with a good knowledge of failure mode avoidance principles resulting from hands-on usage will be beneficial.
In addition, you’ll be expected to show very good analytical skills and techniques, demonstrated in the resolution of complex software and system issues. Finally, you’ll possess knowledge of vehicle architecture and system interfaces (FlexRay, CAN, and LIN communications) alongside a strong planning mindset to ensure robust plans are developed.
