What to expect:
The Stamping Engineering, Die Engineering team are responsible for managing press tooling programmes into each of the 3 UK press shops. The team operates from the start of die design through to home-line commissioning and has full responsibility for all technical elements relating to tooling and stamped parts. Working within a matrix organisation the team is also charged with overseeing the timing and cost elements to support project milestones and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will have responsibility for Stamping Process for JLR products.
• Technical delivery of processes, tools, fixtures and parts into volume production.
o Support Product Development using experience of pressing feasibility.
o Support the definition of stamping manufacture processes
o Lead the Buy-off of Processes, Tool Designs, Patterns and Dies to required specifications.
• Manage the Toolmakers delivery through to tool commissioning in Home Line
o Manage suppliers to deliver the tooling programme (Buy-Offs & Die delivery)
o Manage suppliers to deliver overall project timing and deliverables (Panel supply)
o Provide resolution of process, design, manufacture and try-out issues.
• Delivery of Tools and Parts through to volume production
o Work with press shop personnel and Toolmakers to support the introduction and commissioning of tooling into the press shop, both JLR and external
Aspects of this role can require travel to Suppliers (overseas and UK based) as well as periods in JLR and other Press Shops during launch period.
Key Relationships:
Interfacing daily with Product design Engineers, Stamping Engineers and the plant operational teams to ensure clear and concise flow of relevant information to progress status against all open and relevant AIMS (Automated Issue Management System) and WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System) alerts

Knowledge and Experience (Ideal)
Ideally, the candidate will have gained experience in a Stamping Engineering role, with
• Experience of understanding of press shop processes, equipment and related technology.
• A working knowledge of Team Centre and Catia v5.
• Conversant with Microsoft applications, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
A relevant engineering degree is not essential but would be an advantage, as would time served in related engineering disciplines.
