The Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) function is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence into the global supplier base, by ensuring the capacity and quality performance of all new product and current vehicle suppliers. The function work closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing Operations, Product Development, Material Planning and Logistics teams. They also have significant interface with the Global Supplier Base. STA are responsible to help to deliver flawless launches with new product introduction, maintaining continuous supply and supporting them in becoming the best suppliers in their class.

Over the last 5 years, the company has grown rapidly both within the UK and overseas, which has resulted in greatly increased demands on support from the Supplier Technical Assistance organisation. In response to these requirements, the site team have restructured the department by redefining responsibility for New Model Launch, Supplier Improvement and Current Car activities. This restructuring provides an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, dynamic, self-driven professional engineer to join the team.

Taking the role of an Supplier Technical Assistance Engineer, you’ll provide supplier assistance on site as required, also driving robust PPAP and PSW approvals. You’ll validate production trial runs and capacity verification at supplier manufacturing location, which will include supporting Jaguar Land Rover/Supplier governance with escalation meetings as required, as well as readiness review and reports. Finally, you’ll drive continuous improvement activities by analysing capacity and capability.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

For this role, you’ll need experience in production operations and manufacturing processes as well as knowledge and experience of APQP, PPAP and 8D. You’ll have a demonstrable understanding and application of quality systems, process and problem solving, which you’ll combine with excellent interpersonal skills to influence suppliers, external partners and internal stakeholders. Rounding out your set of skills with knowledge of the design, manufacture and quality control of automotive components will see a successful application for this role.
