WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Product Development Engineering is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. There are three parts to it: Attribute Quality and Process, Vehicle Integrity Team and Vehicle Engineering Management. Working here, you’ll give our vehicles their unique characteristics. It's all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.

 

As Speech Systems Engineer you’ll contribute to the current and future Speech roadmap for our products. You’ll review requirements against business needs, ensuring that all technical aspects are covered in all the hardware and software components that interact with Speech.

 

You’ll define message sequence diagrams between different software layers and will also support and conduct (where required) onsite vehicle test and sign off for new features. To ensure our products meet the needs of our global markets, you’ll manage in-market testing, liaising with global test teams to validate software and ensure it works across different languages and dialects. 

Part of this testing will require you to validate and verify HMI (Human Machine Interface) requirements against development software on test rigs and various vehicle lines by completing Design Validation Tests. Should any issues occur, you’ll be in involved in the root cause analysis of defects and championing the delivery of fixes in subsequent software baselines.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As Speech Systems Engineer, you’ll need in depth software and systems knowledge of infotainment platforms, preferably with automotive experience. Systems Engineering experience would also be desirable.

In order to deliver the best possible solutions, you’ll need experience managing supplier relationships to ensure software is delivered on time, on budget, and at an exceptional level of quality.
