WHAT TO EXPECT

The Special Operations (SO) Departmental vision is to significantly increase model line profits with the rapid provision of personalised features. Key strategic elements include pushing the boundaries of the Brands to create Niche “Halo” sports and luxury products amplifying brand attributes, enhance premium customer experience through vehicle personalisation and exclusivity, and provide bespoke builds.

 

As an Accessory Project Engineer you’ll support objectives to develop new products from concept to launch. You’ll lead aspects and co-ordinate the design and development of SO Vehicle Personalisation (VP) Trim Accessory components from initial concept design through to Job 1 implementation. This will include liaison with CAD engineers, supplier interaction, design reviews and on-plant support.

 

You’ll assist the Interior Trim Team manager and the Platform Leader with all aspects of programme activities from concept feasibility, product design, Bill of Materials (BOM) set up, Worldwide Engineering Release System (WERS) release and also set targets and standards for new features.  Additionally you’ll liaise with Engineers in other Jaguar Land Rover engineering teams to ensure robust engineering electrical solutions and support pre programme start feasibility work as required.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  Familiar with trim development, fabric and plastic and knowledge of trim engineering, testing and processes you’ll ideally have knowledge of CAD systems (eg CATIA V5) and JLR engineering release and change management systems.

 

You’ll have experience of problem solving tools e.g. 6 panel, PPS (8D), FMEA, Robustness, etc. – and the ability to lead problem resolution initiatives. A good level of computer literacy and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Google applications is essential as is a full UK Driving License.
