LOCATION: Solihull, West Midlands
Perfection can always be perfected. That is the mantra of our pioneering Engineering Paint teams. Join us in this influential area of the business, and you’ll maximise our customers’ ownership experience and drive the global success of our business by leading the technical refinement of our already world-class vehicles.
WHAT TO EXPECT
As the Paint Automation and Robotic Engineer, you’ll be responsible for all personnel from Manufacturing, Maintenance and our Advance Manufacturing Engineering (AME) teams, working together to ensure the successful and timely delivery of activities associated with the development and upkeep of paint application equipment. You’ll have good strong skills with PLCs, Ladder Logic & programming, have good electro-mechanical experience and have had prior working experience with robots in a high volume manufacturing environment. You must be able to work unsupervised as well as in a team, and have the ability to take on new skills.
You’ll be responsible for providing effective final commission, maintenance servicing and fault finding of robot controlled and associated paint application equipment. We’ll also expect you to look after the management of all relevant documentation and the development and instruction of appropriate training packages to manufacturing and maintenance operatives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Increasing production targets coupled with new model introductions will keep you on your toes, so you’ll need to be able to balance a demanding work load whilst being able to drive cost and quality improvements across the function. You’ll have a proven ability to problem solve and implement robust solutions leading to detailed action plans and objectives while monitoring progress. A good understanding of Paint processes within a production environment would be ideal, but having experience of working on both electrical and mechanical breakdowns is crucial.
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate a proven ability to develop in-house maintenance and servicing routines based on operating KPIs and manage an external support service that will respond to breakdown situations and planned service contracts. Day to day, you’ll develop and organise a compressive data on processes and performance of robotic and auxiliary equipment, particularly around repeatable failures. Ideally, you’ll have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have an established track record in achieving targets, despite obstacles and setbacks. You also need to be a confident communicator, both written and verbal.
BENEFITS
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
