WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Product Development Engineering is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. There are three parts to it: Attribute Quality and Process, Vehicle Integrity Team and Vehicle Engineering Management. Working here, you’ll give our vehicles their unique characteristics. It's all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.

 

As a Quality Engineer you’ll be the subject matter expertise for PRA (Prevent Reccurrence Action) activities within the In Vehicle Infotainment  (IVI) team. You’ll be the key interface for quality in the Infotainment software delivery and hardware teams. You’ll work to address Quick Service Fixes (QSF) and EPQR's (early problem quality reports), working to prevent recurrence and address TGW (things gone wrong), risk assessments and Warranty Workstream issues.

 

Keeping on top of prioritised warranty items, you’ll coordinate the fixing of quality issues to improve the customer experience; identifying ways to reduce the warranty spend.

 

You’ll identify issues using the quality toolset, focussing on identifying root cause and eliminating the issue. Acting as the interface to the Program Vehicle Team (PVT) and manufacturing engineers, you’ll help ensure issues known to plants are resolved and are communicated within the wider team.

 

Finally you’ll support the annual cycle review working with the Product Development quality department and the Infotainment teams to improve the forward model year vehicles

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Ideally you’ll have an electrical design or development background with a quality focus and mindset. You’ll be familiar with quality tools 8D, FMA, FMEA, SPC, 6 Sigma, etc.

 

You’ll be able to conduct theoretical evaluations and with a hands on approach you’ll be able to Take DLT logs, CAN traces, MOST logs. Finally you’ll need to be flexible to travel worldwide and hold current UK/European driving License or equivalent.
