Reporting to the PVT Group Leader, as a PVT Project Engineer you'll maintain part responsibility within the Vehicle Function Group (VFG) as well as leading the Variation Reduction team (VRT). In this role, you'll support the VRT team, providing coaching on problem-solving strategies, metric management, and day-to-day operational leadership.
You'll be tasked with tracking quality performance via a scorecard and be able to work cross-functionally to drive teams to achieve set targets. You'll also be required to analyse customer data within PAWS, FMS, and AIMs in a timely manner and deliver sufficiency plans, understanding key projects and delivering the external metrics of R/1000, A/1000, TGW, and JD Power.
In addition, you'll be responsible for supporting work-streams with suppliers to develop engineering changes to the product, managing the complete workload from customer symptom to engineering release. This will include tooling costing and feasibility assessments, manufacturing feasibility, engineering validation through line trails and testing, and finally overall business case justification
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you'll have experience in a mass-production engineering environment. You'll be familiar with 8D and DMAICR problem-solving process as well as data analysis and/ or statistical techniques, preferably holding the Six Sigma Green Belt qualification. Finally, you’ll require a good level of computer literacy and a full UK driving licence.
