What to expect:
The Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) Departmental vision is to significantly increase model line profits with the rapid provision of personalised features. Key strategic elements include pushing the boundaries of the Brands to create Niche “Halo” sports & luxury products amplifying brand attributes, enhance premium customer experience through vehicle personalisation and exclusivity, and provide bespoke builds.

To support these objectives there is a requirement to appoint SVO Programme Manager to manage the delivery processes associated with these new products from programme start PS to launch.

The role available to support this objective is a requirement to appoint a Programme planner to work with the existing SVO Programme Team, JLR Product Development and Solihull Production Operations teams to improve the execution and delivery robustness of new product through PS to the launch phase (using appropriate elements of the LQOS disciplines) and into production.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support interface between the SVO Engineering / Programme Management teams, New Model Programmes (NMP) and Production Operations teams, and the and assist resolution of cross functional specs / technical / manufacturing issues at all build events up to and including Job#1 (MP1).
• PDL Authorship – Knowledge of JLR PDL system advantageous
• Future MY VPP Creation & Management.
• Project management of programmes, ensuring timely tooling and production releases for PCS gateways
- Deliverables tracking
- Gateway paper generation
- AIMS Resolution (assist and track)
- WERs Release (assist and track)
- Budget control
• Develop and maintain vehicle specific BoM/Redbook and control using PACN process.
• Facilitate SVO Change through Core FCIM team participation.
• Assist the delivery of credible cross functional launch plans that meet the requirements of the markets and are fully integrated into the production operations site strategies.
• Aid SVO Change management Problem Resolution, Change Management and Product Integrity (PCPA), processes to ensure that all changes are implemented robustly and support programme quality, cost and timing objectives.
• Work with Design & MS&S in development of robust product proposals and associated business cases.
Flexible in work approach, able to work on and lead a varying scale of JLR programmes including managing external resource.

What you’ll need:
• Degree in Engineering or comparable qualification.
• Previous first hand working experience of launching a new model/derivative into production is essential.
• Knowledge of engineering release and change management systems.
• Excellent level of knowledge of general vehicle architecture advantageous
• Understanding of JLR PCS gateway regime, the JLR Programme Management discipline incl i3 and the LQOS process would be beneficial.
• PDL authorship advantageous.
• Demonstrable knowledge of - and previous experience of working with – Product Development, Design, Marketing Sales & Service, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations and/or Supply / STA would be highly beneficial.
• Highly driven enthusiastic individual with proven project management, communication and leadership skills, able to integrate and act as pivotal player within a cross functional team to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Good team player/ leader, who is self-motivated to deliver good quality service to downstream stakeholders - essential
• Good communication and presentation skills to all levels - essential
• Data analysis and good PC skills including Excel, Word, Powerpoint - essential
