An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.
LOCATION: Castle Bromwich, West Midlands
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our engineers are truly world-class, and this is reflected in the varied responsibilities you’ll enjoy when you join us. You’ll be accountable for processes that enable us to deliver industry-leading luxury vehicles that capture the hearts and minds of the world’s most discerning drivers. What’s more, you’ll be expected to proactively refine and improve our processes on a daily basis. You’ll monitor processes and internal audits, introduce product changes and assist with delivery schedules. Moreover, we’ll expect you to provide technical support for manufacturing processes, warranty investigations and reports, and manage change projects. In addition, you’ll bring to the role a flexible approach that equips you to work in any area of the plant – from Press or Body Construction, through Assembly, to Paint and Quality.
The Production Engineering team exists to ensure our vehicles, once in production, meet or surpass both our internal engineering standards and our external regulatory requirements. Activity is therefore focussed on process performance, capability and adherence to the engineering standard through the interrogation and interpretation of product and process-related data. Operating a Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, Environment (SQDCME) policy deployment, the Production team engage across all metrics leveraging warranty, dimensional, audit, design and manufacturing- related data, translating it into operational plans that ensure our vehicles continue to offer our customers an experience they will love for life.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
The role demands interaction across all leadership levels and functional areas of the business. In practice this means problem solving using a ‘Go Look See’ philosophy, engaging with Production to overcome challenges, and presenting clear solutions with a strong business case to our leadership teams.
Ideally you’ll be qualified to degree level, but your experience will be just as important, as will your track record of using lean/continuous improvement tools and waste management techniques within a quality focussed manufacturing environment. You’ll need to demonstrate a varied skill set, taking in the management and analysis of data and cost benefits, the production of metrics, the development of plans with defined objectives, and structured problem solving. Ideally, you’ll also have a proven talent for presenting solutions in a compelling way, and leading teams to deliver process improvements.
Building strong networks and relationships with a broad range of talented colleagues and key stakeholders, you’ll need a flair for communicating clear objectives, progress and obstacles, and coaching work stream leads. For most posts, you’ll be required to work a variety of shifts.
BENEFITS
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
