WHAT TO EXPECT
As a skilled Press Setter/Operator working within our Product Engineering Tool Room in Whitley, you’ll play a crucial role by providing press/stamping solutions to primarily support low volume prototype vehicle builds.
Within your role you’ll be setting and running dynamic presses, using your expertise within sheet metal forming to produce quality low volume pressings. Additionally you’ll be able to diagnose and resolve issues by using a draw forming process.
You’ll demonstrate safe working practices at all times in line with the company’s ‘destination zero’ policies and you’ll understand the responsibility for yourself and others in the workplace. You’ll adopt world-class 5S & Lean principles to support the workshop to deliver on their daily objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Ideally you'll hold a relevant indentured or advanced modern apprenticeship, alternatively you'll require as a minimum an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and work experience appropriate to the Level 3 standard. Additionally, all applications for this programme must demonstrate at least 50% core competence in line with a job specialism related training needs analysis.
Like us, you’re passionate about what you do & enjoy working as part of a highly motivated & skilled team. On top of this, you'll have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. You’ll also have experience of press forming, using a variety of materials. You’ll be PC literate and have good listening and communication skills.
You’ll be collaborative by nature, will support others, and will have a ‘can do, will do’ attitude, to ensure that the workflow targets are met. You’ll also have detail fitting skills, and will apply these skills carefully and precisely.
