An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Design and Optimisation team work within Powertrain Research & Technology to deliver robust, innovative and cost-effective new technologies into the future generations of Jaguar Land Rover products.
We are challenged by both legislation and market competition to push the efficiency of combustion engines higher than ever before. Your placement will deliver a key aspect of this; helping us reduce internal friction through the potential use of lower viscosity oils.
You will need to investigate and analyse existing petrol engine components, systems, and operating conditions in order to understand the factors that drive engine lubricant viscosity requirements. Using this knowledge you will then be responsible for proposing and designing changes to key components and systems which enable the use of these lower viscosity oils; as well as managing the delivery of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) verification and comparisons between different oil operating viscosities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You must be pursuing a postgraduate degree in Engineering or Science, with experience of internal combustion engine components and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. A good working knowledge of petrol engine components, oil material properties, and engine oil systems is desirable, as is experience with CATIA & TeamCenter software.
You’ll be a resilient self-starter with the ability to resolve technical challenges with limited guidance using a strong project management capability. You’ll be able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to new ideas and inputs.
BENEFITS
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
