PROJECT START: As soon as a successful candidate is found.

PROJECT DURATION: Six to Twelve Months

LOCATION:  UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK / UK

Pulses racing. Spines tingling. Throughout our history, our iconic vehicles have delivered some of the most emotive driving experiences on the road. Today, with increasing demand and ever-growing ambition, we’re seeking the next generation of innovators who will capture the hearts and minds of customers in every corner of the world.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Research department develops new technologies and features for Jaguar Land Rover vehicles to a concept ready state. The team takes responsibility from developing concepts to proving them out, then handing over to mainstream engineering functions to deliver into production.

Joining them as a postgraduate student, you’ll be part of the Future Electrical Vehicle Architectures team, developing a new and flexible electrical architecture that enables the Autonomous, Connected and Electrified features of the future.

You’ll get involved with and learn from all stages of technology product development, from gathering information, through benchmarking to data collection and analysis. You’ll also develop software and hardware, testing and proving concepts through validation and trials.

Working collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders, you’ll seek out the best technologies and knowledge to inform your work, while also looking ahead to identify opportunities for collaboration and innovative projects.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ve completed a postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Electronicxs/Mechatronics/Robotics, Telecoms or similar. And now you’re ready to bring your knowledge to work.

You’ll also have good knowledge of one of the following areas: cyber security, telecoms (4G/5G), Cloud comms/telematics/V2X, functional safety, vehicle networks, ethernet technologies or networks topologies, or programming experience.

While experience gained in a similarly advanced engineering environment, of delivering complex projects, hacking or delivering a research project would all be an advantage, good project management, time and planning skills are all essential.

Just as importantly, you’ll be a self-starter with confident communication skills and the ability to adapt and learn quickly in new environments.
