The Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) Departmental vision is to significantly increase model line profits with the rapid provision of personalised features. Key strategic elements include pushing the boundaries of the Brands to create Niche “Halo” sports & luxury products amplifying brand attributes, enhance premium customer experience through vehicle personalisation and exclusivity, and provide bespoke builds.
Reporting to the SVO Quality Manager, the Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Quality Engineer will work, with a minimum of supervision, in all aspects of current car engineering. This regularly involves the identification, containment & resolution of issues through data analysis and working with Manufacturing, suppliers, Product Investigation (Service) and dealers. The status of solution implementation will be reviewed regularly and is reported primarily within the issue management system and / or the warranty system and also on internal project status trackers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Take ownership of vehicle line quality metrics, identify and lead projects to resolution.
• Be responsible for a commodity and resolution of projects / issues.
• Lead cross functional teams in issue identification and resolution.
• Analysis of warranty data to identify and prioritise top issues and resolve customer concerns
• Identifying and implementing robust containment, root cause and permanent corrective action.
• Quality data analysis using the warranty system, continuous quality insight, JD Powers, DTC Database etc,
• Supporting the production team with the timely resolution of build issues,
• Project management of engineering changes including timing, line trials etc.
• Project resolution through use of 8D, 6 Sigma tool set.
• Reporting out to management
• Support daily manufacturing Nerve centre meetings

What you’ll need:
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments & projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to enable communication across all levels of the business. The role will involve leading cross function teams to resolve issues, both from the field and within the plant and will include providing guidance to suppliers.
• Ability to use the issue management, warranty and parts release systems is also useful but training would be given.
• Knowledge of engineering release and change management systems.
• Experience of problem solving tools e.g. 6 panel, PPS (8D), failure mode avoidance, Robustness, etc. –and able to lead problem resolution initiatives.
• Data analysis and PC skills including Excel, Word, Powerpoint - essential
• Good team player/ leader, who is self-motivated to deliver good quality products - essential
• Minimum Class 2PG driving licence
