Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Paint Facilities Engineering are responsible for the introduction of new facilities to keep our Solihull Paint Shop environmentally compliant and deliver efficiency and capacity projects, equipment required to process new materials, and product programmes through the Paint Shop.
As the Paint Facilities Manager you’ll take the lead for flawless facility project launches, on time and with quality at the Solihull site.
Your role covers advanced facilities planning, and delivery and launch. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, feasibility investigations, prototype build support, project planning/management, facilities engineering and modifications, developing and maintaining master schedules, and documentation control. You’ll also lead AME Environmental compliance to ISO audits, and lead and manage shutdown and weekend work activities within the Paint Shop.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll have a background in project managing within Paint Operations along with knowledge of paint facilities and systems. You’ll have knowledge of Global Product Development System, Launch Quality Operating Systems and implications to facility readiness time line. Ideally you’ll be educated to a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical or manufacturing or production engineering.
Experienced using lean manufacturing tools and techniques, you’ll have expert knowledge of CDM and other safety regulations, along with knowledge of electrical control systems employed with automated equipment and conveyor equipment.
With exceptional IT literacy, you’ll also be skilled in the manipulation of 2D and 3D Auto-CAD data. You'll have managed budgets, suppliers and been involved in supplier selection and tender management. An excellent communicator, you’ll have strong relationship building, leadership, and negotiation skills, along with a problem solving mentality.
You’ll be based at Solihull Paint Shop, although should be prepared to work in all Jaguar Land Rover Paint shops – with potential of international travel and extended business trips. You must be flexible with regard to working hours as the role requires on occasion, after hours, weekend and shutdown working.
