WHAT TO EXPECT
Suspension. Engine mounts. Wheels and tyres. To provide an exceptional driving experience, every chassis component needs be honed to perfection. This takes all kinds of people, from designers to project managers.
The Suspension Systems Tuning group is primarily responsible for developing and delivering features such as air suspension, damping, active roll control and active suspension. You’ll cover all aspects of the design from requirements capture to production implementation. You’ll support the development of current and future electronic and software based vehicle suspension control systems. You’ll be responsible for defining requirements for an eARC (Electric Active Roll Control) system and will liaise with key stakeholders in defining the requirements of the eARC development. We will also expect you to plan, conduct and minute results of test-work required to show compliance with system requirements and standards.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll need a great understanding of electro-mechanical systems and possess systematic problem solving abilities. You’ll also need an appreciation of available problem solving tools. You must have an understanding of applicable modelling techniques and the ability to analyse system efficiency and energy consumption. You’ll need a passion for the automotive industry and the potential of automotive technology. You’ll need to be PC literate, a confident user of Excel macros and be competent in the use of Matlab. You must have good negotiating skills and communication skills. A good engineering degree in a relevant discipline would be highly beneficial.
