To enable JLR to meet our ambitious, global expansion plans, Centres of Excellence (CoE) are being established as part of the development of a class leading, high performing and best practice Process Organisation. The CoEs will allow us to develop and support a population of deep functional experts who will bring specific process and application insight. CoEs will provide the expertise and rigour to continually refine and improve the exploitation of the investment JLR is making in strategic, enterprise applications.
The Master Data Management (MDM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) is the conduit between the JLR Purchasing business and the respective IT teams, ensuring that business Master Data requirements are delivered working closely with the Purchasing business office and associated stakeholders. Key is the ability to translate technical aspects of MDM into business language and be the voice of the business into IT.
Key Responsibilities:
• Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM). Ideally focused on the Purchasing domain in a Manufacturing environment.
• End to end Master Data support and maintenance around the current SAP Purchasing processes to ensure master data integrity. Act as point of escalation for technical issues raised by the business to the IT service delivery organisation and the IT CoE.
• Be the conduit between the JLR Purchasing business and the respective IT technical teams both on SAP programmes and the IT Business Relationship Management team for legacy systems. Ensure business Master Data requirements are delivered working closely with the Purchasing business office and associated stakeholders. IT interactions will include the SAP programme team, IT CoE and the IT service delivery team.
• Ability to translate technical aspects of MDM into business language and be the voice of the business into IT
• Initiate and support the delivery of change requests as agreed with the Centre of Excellence Manager.
• Work with the IT CoE to ensure that Change Requests, Service Requests and Continuous Improvement Requests are impact assessed and appropriate delivery plans developed.
• Represent Purchasing in appropriate governance forums including CAB (Change Authority Board) and SDA (Solution Design Authority) to ensure quality of delivery of change requests.
• Support the Change Management Team in delivery of key activities associated with change requests e.g. training / comms / process documentation.
• Participate in testing and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) activities when required. Assist in development of UAT test scripts by gathering appropriate business scenarios.
• Work with the business to ensure that master data changes are understood and processed by the technical/ shared services teams in a timely manner.
• Participate in knowledge transfer activities to ensure that future Master Data requirements can be passed from the programme team into a business as usual environment.
• Support the purchasing shared service team in resolution of Master Data issues in a timely manner.
Key Relationships:
The Purchasing Centre of Excellence works both with IT and other functional CoE’s to ensure that the role and scope of the CoE will continue to expand driven by the delivery of future SAP programmes into additional UK sites and internationally.

What you’ll need:
Essential Skills:
• Excellent process knowledge of Purchasing Master Data in SAP and associated processes
• Working knowledge of SAP and various modules including (MM,SRM)
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Experience of working with a multi-market / multi-geography implementation
• Experience of working with off-shore service providers would be an advantage.
Desirable Skills:
• Working knowledge of accounts payable
• SAP MM, SRM certification
