The maintenance department is an integrated function of manufacturing within Paint Operations and is responsible for the upkeep of all paint facilities as well as related processes that are required to ensure that the production team can produce vehicles that meet and exceed the business's quality requirements. This is achieved by implementing a lean as well as flexible and disciplined common manufacturing operation. It is defined by: a set of principles and processes that employ groups of capable, engaged and empowered people, who are learning and working safely together to produce quality products, while constantly improving processes and facilities to a level that consistently exceed our customers’ expectations.

As a Maintenance Supervisor you’ll manage the planned maintenance programme by producing and work schedules. To  ensure even distribution of work over a defined time period as well as achieve company objectives whilst additionally monitoring plant, equipment and process operations for correct performance including the buy off of new equipment. In addition, you’ll also ensure all relevant health and safety documentation and equipment  are available at all times in good working order with up to date certification. In this role you’ll develop educational training plans for shift personnel including simple guidance or instructions. Moreover, you’ll also take on the responsibility of defining and ordering maintenance materials, operating to defined budgets. In the role you’ll have the ability and willingness to be flexible with working hours and shifts at short notice.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll need to have a good working knowledge and high level of technical, mechanical and automotive engineering skills in a paint application environment. In addition, you’ll have experience of leading a team and be able to demonstrate excellent communication, coaching and feedback skills. Moreover, you’ll have a high level of technical and engineering skills, ideally from a maintenance background. Resource planning experience and a Six Sigma qualification is preferred along with the ability to interpret technical data. You’ll possess a good knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and techniques as well as be experienced in promoting health and safety processes.
