WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Our Suspension Systems Integration team drives the development of our suspension systems from concept through to production. The team is responsible for the development of suspension geometry, performance targets, suspension and power unit loads, suspension error states avoidance (shimmy, pull/drift, improper tyre wear, steering wheel misalignment and manufacturing capability) and the design of suspension concepts to meet these requirements.

 

As a Loads Engineer within the Suspension Systems Integration team and under the leadership of your Lead Engineer, you’ll predict, review and cascade suspension system and powertrain loads to all relevant component engineers within agreed timelines. You’ll cascade standard design load cases from vehicle to component level using SIMPACK and enhance the design load cases from Road Load Data and Multibody Systems Analysis.

 

You’ll also build strong multi-functional and multi-site relationships whilst demonstrating strong communication and organisational skills and manage complex issues with tight time constraints.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You'll have demonstrable knowledge of chassis systems and Attribute interactions. You’ll be an experienced user of SIMPACK or equivalent with good knowledge of Multibody Systems loads calculations and ideally also demonstrate an appreciation of suspension design, packaging and functional requirements.

 

With the ability to manage and resolve complex technical issues, you’ll be able to deliver to tight time constraints and with minimal supervision. You'll have high levels of personal organisation, high drive, self-motivation, and be able to work confidently under pressure.

 

Paired with your working knowledge and experience, you’ll also be educated to HND or degree level within a relevant field, although any further education (masters or PHD) in MBS Analysis will be highly advantageous.
