WHAT TO EXPECT
As our business continues to grow from strength to strength, we are looking for a Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate to join our small but dynamic legal team, providing advice and direction regarding a wide variety of commercial contracts, with a focus on procurement, engineering, manufacturing and innovation disciplines. There will also be an opportunity to assist in respect of corporate work (e.g. equity investments). The successful candidate will be a key and influential adviser to the Jaguar Land Rover business, providing commercial and legal advice on a range of business matters. In particular the role will include responsibility for legal issues which arise in respect of:
· Contracts with production and special vehicle operations suppliers, including assistance to the Jaguar Land Rover procurement function in management of its key suppliers;
· Complex engineering contracts in respect both core business and Jaguar Racing;
· contracts for development and subsequent licensing of technology and/or intellectual property;
· Assisting the warranty team in respect of high value recoveries;
· Contracts with academic and industrial research partners, including state funded and non-state funded collaborations, studentships and framework services agreements with universities.
All roles involve working closely with the internal Jaguar Land Rover business teams and the successful candidates will be key and influential advisers, providing both commercial and legal advice and guidance on a range of business matters.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You will need to have extensive experience of post qualification experience as a English and Welsh qualified lawyer and possess demonstrable experience of commercial drafting and, in relation to the intellectual property vacancy, in particular in respect of trade mark and copyright licences.
High commercial acumen with confidence to challenge and question where needed, comfortability with advising on and managing your own workload, whilst seeking support from team members as required and the ability to deliver a high quality and consistent level of advice in a complex and highly-demanding environment are all essential.
