WHAT TO EXPECT

Business analytics is a key source of competitive advantage for Jaguar Land Rover and it is our ambition to be industry leaders in this area.  The aim of the Corporate Analytics Team is to ensure we succeed in that ambition by making JLR more efficient, agile and profitable with analytics expertise, tools and processes that deliver rapid actionable insights, enable a controlled self-service analytics revolution and build transformational analytics solutions.
Graduates are a vital part of this ambition because of the fresh ideas and knowledge of the latest analytics techniques learned at university.  This scheme will create what we believe to be the first analytics career path within industry and create the analytics professionals of the future. 

The first year of a two year scheme focuses on a combination of on the job and classroom training, certification on analytical tools and working with functions from across the on business on both analytics projects and transformational programmes.  As well as supporting certification for key technologies we also support other professional qualifications (such as CIMA) or further studies in analytics.

In the second year you will continue to work on a range of projects within the business analytics team, where you will also have mentoring responsibilities for new graduates.  In addition you will completed two to three secondments to other business functions (from operations, to marketing, to HR) to learn about their area of the business and work on their analytics projects and programmes, with support from the central analytics team.

The range of responsibilities and roles experienced during the scheme are designed to support various career paths both inside the Corporate Analytics Team (as an analytics projects manager or specialists in an analytics area, such as forecasting, unstructured data or machine learning, or analytics project ) and in other JLR functions (with a role to drive analytics in that area).

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Excellence runs throughout our entire business and we expect you to be the same. You’ll have either a STEM, Economics or Finance degree at 2:2 level or higher, but more importantly you’ll have a passion for analytics and problem solving, the curiosity to understand a business problem and explore innovative solutions, the confidence to champion new initiatives and be an excellent communicator.
