As a Fastener Engineer, you will be working in the department that provides materials and fastener engineering advice and direction to many customers within our business. You’ll ensure technically robust, cost effective, and environmentally friendly materials solutions to engineering issues. Working in close collaboration with a number of departments, you’ll assist with the the selection, specification, validation and evaluation of fasteners and allied finishes for current and future applications on our products.

 

You’ll lead technical discussions and investigations into Fastener/Materials technologies, process developments or service failures (coordinating laboratory testing), direct and lead the selection, specification, validation and evaluation of Fasteners/materials and allied processes for both current and future vehicles.  You’ll also initiate and manage Fastener Innovation opportunities including performance and lightweighting, liaising with fastener suppliers to learn and introduce new fastener technologies into the business.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll have experience of working with Fasteners, or you will be a mechanical engineer with knowledge of fastening products, surface finishing and assembly techniques. Your ability to analyse problems and generate solutions to achieve results whilst making effective use of resources will be invaluable in this exciting role.
