What to expect:
The Engine Manufacturing Centre (EMC) is a Brand New State of the Art production facility to produce the next generation of advanced Engines to power the future vehicles of the Jaguar Land Rover Brand.

Power Train Production Operations is responsible for the manufacture of the new JLR engine to support the next generation of JLR vehicles. Delivering a premium product, the production operations team will establish, introduce and develop the new facility to ensure a first class service to our customer base.

The EMC Current Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for the governance of the manufacturing processes within the engine plant and acts as the change authority to these processes. It also plays a key part in overall operating efficiency improvement actions as well as supporting new production / major product changes delivered by the Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering Department (PTME).

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) machining process knowledge and leadership
• Support with the implementation and design of machine Condition Monitoring & Process Monitoring system
• Analyse CM (Condition Monitoring) / PM (Process Monitoring) data and advise to support in corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
• Creating Work Instructions Sheets for Predictive Maintenance (PdM) tasks
• Utilise lean manufacturing techniques.
• Manage the implementation of CBM and TPM modifications and update related documentation, to ensure they meet the correct Standards
• Deliver quality objectives, monitor process characteristics, and ensure processes are stable and capable.
• Provide technical expertise to team problem-solving activities.
• Assist with training for the integrated production and maintenance teams.
• Liaise with Machine suppliers and system vendors
• Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering on new process and launch activities into the business
• Feedback on key issues/lessons learned for future programmes.
• Ensure any reports or data is made available to support KPI’s or any tactical or strategic in a timely manner
• Assist to any other tasks required to help the EMC achieve its vision of having a world class facility

Candidate Profile

What you’ll need:
• Be aware of JLR leadership behaviours and be capable of demonstrating proven areas of strength
• Experience and knowledge of engine component machining or have transferable skills from related industries such as the manufacturing of Aerospace Electro / Mechanical Actuators
• Awareness of WERS, AIMS, SAP MES or CIMPOS desirable
• An ability to communicate across functional boundaries and at different levels is essential
• Be able to work independently, manage priorities, identify issues and solutions using own initiative, coupled with a desire to make a difference and tenacity to achieve results
• Demonstrate drive, a creative flair with a customer focussed approach and good organisational skills and have the ability to multi-task; manage changing priorities whilst maintaining focus.
• Excellent project management skills
• Blackbelt / Greenbelt trained is desirable
• Qualified to at least HNC level in a related field
