What to expect:

The Customer Plant Liaison Department is the EMC’s first line of contact with our customer vehicle plants. It is responsible for supporting our customers in their vehicle build using our products and acting as a conduit for information regarding support to the vehicle plants. Outline responsibilities include issue resolution, 8D response, ICA/PCA, managing of plant quality metrics (PPM scorecard data), adherence to JLR QOS procedures, EMC/Customer SLA, daily reporting to Vehicle Plant Quality, manufacturing, launch teams etc. Customer Plant Liaison plays a crucial role in driving our values and helping the Powertrain team to achieve our vision. The successful candidate will act as the first level of support to our customers, responsible for collating vital initial information and reporting issues back to EMC from the vehicle plants as they occur.
The Customer Plant Liaison will be passionate about providing excellent customer service, taking responsibility for aspects such as effective data gathering, clear communication, methodical problem solving and logical containment of quality concerns to protect customer.

Role is based in Wolverhampton at the Engineering Manufacturing Centre but it will require travel to other manufacturing sites (Solihull, Castle Bromwich, Halewood).

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to EMC Quality Assurance. Your specific responsibilities will include;

• Rapid response to customer concerns
• Initial investigation and screening of issues
• Completion of level zero
• ICA response for EMC liability concerns
• Completion of interim 8D
• Communication and presentation of full 8D for issue closure
• Management of plant AIMS/E-Tracker deck for EMC issues
• Management of A grade EMC team working within vehicle plant(s)
• Representing EMC at daily plant meetings, start of shift, end of shift, quality reviews etc
• Management of vehicle plant quality metrics (PPM scorecard)
• Adherence to EMC/Customer SLA, JLR QOS
• Training and coordination of on-site engineering teams for containments, sweeps etc
• Management of rejected engines including authorised repair and assessment

• Act as a focal point for all EMC quality concerns within vehicle plant
• Exhibit, in the eyes of the customer, the Powertrain values. Acting as a role model for both EMC and ‘NURTURE

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline
• Current, valid UK driving license
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent appearance and bearing
• Strong problem solving ability
• Meticulous organisational and planning skills
• Ability to understand complex quality issues and to clearly communicate key messages
• Enthusiasm and drive
• Commitment and confidence to achieve goals of the team and self with minimal supervision
• Strong knowledge QPS/WES
• Good IT skills including use of MS Excel and PowerPoint
• AIMS/E-Tracker user
• Proactive and able to operate with minimum supervision in a fast paced and demanding environment
• Adaptable and willing to be flexible within their role
