WHAT TO EXPECT
Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability, while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.
The traction drive (motor and power inverter) is a key component in JLR’s electrification strategy. As eMachines and Drives Engineer you’ll be part of the design and advanced development and/or selection of traction electric machines for our electrification programmes. You will routinely be engaged in the resolution of technical challenges in the adopted technology and support a number of programme delivery tasks. This will include co-authorship of specification documents, the application of relevant standards, and functional and durability testing pertaining to eMachines. Working closely with the team, you will be engaged in the design, development, and release of electrical machines and their drives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll have knowledge of electric machines fundamentals, including eMachine sub-components function and eDrive systems. Knowledge of power electronic converters/inverters and eMachine control software and design philosophy would also be beneficial. You’ll also need strong project management and planning skills, along with the ability to work closely with a team.
