We’re re-examining our vehicles and what a vehicle means in the emerging world of automation, Connectedness, electrification and the shared economy. New ideas, new technology, and newApproaches to mobility are our business. Join a team of next generation thinkers.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Here, you’ll design, develop and shape the future of our electronic systems. By helping us find visionary developments in everything from hybrid vehicles and infotainment to advanced electronic systems integration and electrics.

Earlier this year, Jaguar Land Rover announced a long-term strategic partnership with Waymo, formerly Google’s self-driving car project. The Jaguar I-PACE is at the heart of this partnership, with both companies working together to develop the world’s first premium self-driving electric vehicle, set to join Waymo’s driverless transportation service. Up to 20,000 vehicles will be part of the Waymo driverless fleet in the US by 2020. This long-term strategic collaboration will further Waymo and Jaguar Land Rover’s shared goals: to make cars safer, free up people’s valuable time and improve mobility for everyone.

As EDS Engineer you’ll create and work with Electrical Distribution Systems and vehicle level CAD as part of the team developing wiring harnesses, fuse-boxes, connectors and other hardware that delivers electrical signals and power throughout the car. This forms a significant and complex system that requires your engineering talent to develop and deliver robust and efficient designs concepts to our rapidly growing portfolio of premium vehicles.

In your role you’ll include circuit design and analysis, challenging system owners to develop the most efficient total system design, with Electrical Distribution Systems; creating Bill of Designs for critical package zones in the vehicle, as well as conducting competitor benchmarking on components and competitor circuits.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You'll need technical experience of Electrical Distribution System design engineering, as well as Design Validation planning and testing.

You’ll be organised and able to present technical reports with an understanding and the ability to use generic quality and problem solving tools as well as experience in analysing, organising and manipulating large complex sets of data.

It is also desirable if you’ve experience of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis tools, Design Verification Plan, Microsoft Office tools, Capital Harness and Capital Integrator.

Jaguar Land Rover considers that this role does not meet the criteria to be considered within the Home Office Shortage Occupation list.  Therefore, Jaguar Land Rover will not support an application for visa sponsorship and all applicants for this role must have an unrestricted right to work for an indefinite period in the UK.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, private medical cover and performance related bonus scheme. As a manager, you’ll also be able to select one of our luxury premium vehicles to lease at a fraction of the cost. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.

Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
