WHAT TO EXPECT

Here, you’ll design, develop, and shape the future of our electronic systems by helping us find visionary developments in everything from hybrid vehicles and infotainment to advanced electronic systems integration and electrics.

Sophisticated and technically complex, the electrical distribution systems (EDS) in our vehicles are designed to the highest specifications, and when you join us you’ll lead the team responsible for maintaining and delivering these systems for a number of different models.

Working from programme start to implementation, your focus will be on understanding the technical requirements for the delivery of vehicle EDS. You’ll identify key EDS standards, design the requirements, and maintain the DPs tracker. Providing support to the delivery of the EDS commodity will include cost, weight, quality, functional performance, and engineering sign-off.

Providing technical leadership and ensuring high-quality project deliverables are met on time, you’ll also develop good working relationships with your key interfaces. The other responsibilities within your remit will include the ongoing development of your team, ensuring best-in-class quality processes, and leading specific cross-functional problem-solving activities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

This is a role where your ability to influence and manage people will be the key to success, and also one where your project management, process improvement, and strategy development skills will make you an inspirational colleague. You’ll have the talent to negotiate with other functions to achieve your goals and possess excellent knowledge of EDS supplier management.

You’ll come with a good level of project management experience, including projects planning, requirement gathering, and working alongside suppliers of complex commodities. Ideally, you’ll also be capable of managing and leveraging maximum support from a supply base to achieve your programme objectives.

Besides computer literacy in Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, you’ll be expected to demonstrate a degree of adaptability allowing you to master company-specific systems. This should be complemented with a good knowledge or experience of technical problem solving.

A working knowledge of change control, product definition, and change management processes will be desirable in order to support the review of feasible product actions therefore ensuring robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production.
