As part of this sustainable and profitable growth strategy we’re bringing the Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) design and development in house. This means we’ll be designing and developing wiring harnesses installation as well as having responsibilitiy for all the design validation activities around EDS. As CAD Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing the wiring harnesses routing in line with our build of design (BoD), build of process (BoP), and harness Design for Manufacture (DFM) requirements. You’ll also supports the delivery of the EDS commodity including geometry, cost, weight, quality, and functional performance.   

 

You’ll also create and provide all the required documentation and plans to support virtual builds and validation plans. Maintain Virtual Engineering Progression Schedule (VEPS) tracker and ensure robust implementation and compatibility with downstream systems through to production.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

We are looking for people with technical experience of Electrical Distribution System design engineering as well as working knowledge of 2D / 3D wiring harnesses geometry, change control, product definition and change management processes.

 

You’ll be organised and able to present technical reports and understand complex Bill of Materials, vehicle electrical circuits, as well as experience with CATIA V5.

 

In addition to this, you’ll need the ability to work in a mixed team of skilled Original Equipment Manufacturer and Supplier Engineers in the design, development and delivery of Electrical Distribution Systems, including prototype build support.
