WHAT TO EXPECT

With your extensive knowledge of combustion engines and experience in dyno testing and, you’ll join our Operations team as a Dyno & Engine Investigation Engineer at the brand new state-of-the-art Engine Manufacturing Centre (EMC). Which is the home of the next generation of advanced Engines to power the future vehicles of the Jaguar Land Rover Brand.

 

Power Train Production Operations is responsible for the manufacture of the new JLR engine to support the next generation of JLR vehicles. Delivering a premium product, the production operations team will establish, introduce and develop the new facility to ensure a first class service to our customer base. Ultimately responsible for producing engines to a world class standard.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained through product conformance to agreed quality standards and processes. The responsibility of the Dyno & Engine Investigation Engineer will be primarily defining, maintaining the AVL Puma Test Programs.

 

You’ll communicate current issues to relevant teams to ensure all receive maximum exposure and are dealt with effectively to assist, improve and sustain product quality. You’ll also drive continuous improvement by establishing a specific course of action, and appropriately manage time, tasks, budgets and resources to ensure a first class service to our customer base.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have experience and a technical understanding of spark ignition or compression ignition engine dyno testing and an appreciation of the base engine components/function/calibration/diagnostics & emissions. You’ll be required to have good knowledge of AVL Puma, familiarity of ETAS INCA toolset would be advantageous, along with the ability to implement change effectively and ensure efficient running of the operation with the use of planning and timing tools to deliver on-going projects

 

You’ll be proficient with use of PC Systems & Packages, such as MiniTab, AVL Concerto, MDA and other data analysis tools. You’ll be able to interpret and collate statistical data and create reports. You’ll be a strong communicator, both written & verbally and have the confidence to present your information in front of groups of people, including Senior Management.  Applicants should ideally be educated to degree level (relevant experience also considered).
