When it comes to the future, our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team is planning it today. Regularly working up to three years ahead of production, they help translate, plan and implement Product Development outputs into vehicle manufacture, transforming our ambitious plans into tangible and exhilarating realities.

The Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity (DMBI) Team are responsible for the dimensional maturation of the body structure. This includes involvement from conception of designs at the simultaneous engineering phase through to the launch of the finished vehicle. A high degree of inter-departmental interaction is expected, specifically in areas that have a direct relationship to the deliverables of the department. The DMBI Team are one leg of the larger Dimensional Control and Build Integrity (DCBI) department.
As Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity Engineer you’ll support the DCBI Lead Engineer in the Programme deliverables, including the planning, execution and administration of product and manufacturing tooling maturation events through the various launch phases from Verification Prototype (VP) build to Job1.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll be working in a fast paced environment so will need the ability to muti-task, supporting a team with competing demands. You’ll need to be resilient, self-motivated and production orientated, and have great communication skills to enable you to confidently represent your manager or team in various forums and to key stakeholders.
You’ll be computer proficient and able to interpret data into technical reports and have a clear under understanding of part, assembly, and system interaction which involves tolerances, variability, and methods of location and measurement. You’ll need a solid background in Body in White (BiW) and ideally, experience in metrology and manufacturing engineering. Ideally you will hold a degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline or a Higher National Certificate or Diploma along with relevant experience in dimensional/tooling maturation and preferably six sigma green/Black Belt skill sets.
The base locations are dependent upon the current needs of the department. However, a high degree of flexibility is required to support the on-going development and launch of programmes.
