What to expect:
The Department:
Technical service operations are a key function within the JLR Global Technical Service department. A key role of the area is to support vehicle maintenance and repair operations in JLR Retailers globally, through the Technical Online Product Information eXchange (TOPIx) web portal. In turn, the key function of TOPix is to facilitate rapid and Right First Time Repair and Maintenance of JLR customer vehicles, through the provision of timely and accurate:
• Workshop Manuals.
• Service and Maintenance Schedules.
• Schedule Repair Operation Labour Times.
• Electrical Wiring Diagrams and Connector Details.
• Technical Bulletins, Campaigns and Recall information.
Role
• This position is effective as of 1st April 2016. This role supports the investigation and improvement to the diagnostic tool. You will use your technical knowledge of diagnostics, including partII data, and feedback data from the diagnostics tool to identify tool performance concerns and identify improvements.
• You will do this by analysing diagnostic feedback data and look for trends in tool usage and performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the wider team in looking at feedback data to show the performance of the diagnostic tool and support them in answer why the tool and technician are behaving the way they are.
• Use data to confirm that improvements to the diagnostic tool have been successful, by showing before and after performance data.
• Use data to confirm that new diagnostic software releases continue to perform as expected, by confirming validation result are the same as in market usage data.
• Produce data reports to aid tool improvement decisions, using data to tell us how the diagnostic tool is be used by technician.
• Input into various market forums with feedback of concerns identities.
• Provide updates and status of activates to the Team Leader and Line Manager.
• Support ad-hoc requests relating to diagnostic repair processes and the diagnostic tool.

What you’ll need:
To be successful in this role you will need;
• Back ground in vehicle diagnostics or vehicle electric systems.
• Knowledge of vehicle architecture and diagnostic systems.
• Experience in handling complex situations at a technical level.
• Academic degree within relevant area or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• Strong Problem solving skills essential.
• Data analysis skills essential.
• Understanding of XML structure
• Understand of PartII document structures
• Good communications skills at a technical level essential.
• IT skills especially MS Excel, MS access, PAWS, VFDB, SAP, business objects
