Job description
DevOps Engineer
An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Every moment of every day, IT keeps Jaguar Land Rover moving in the right direction. Without it, our business simply cannot evolve. So the projects you work on here will have a real impact. Your ideas and solutions will not just help manage operations – they will transform the business and, ultimately, affect how every one of our functions works.
In this key DevOps role that is an essential part of delivering an interconnected experience within our vehicles, you’ll be establishing and maintaining an automated path to production by committing code to our vehicles, as well as developing and debugging all build, deploy, and test related issues.
You’ll be creating and maintaining software that allows developers to focus more on developing rather than infrastructure, and developing utilities that improve the developer ramp-up process. You’ll also create a foundation for a rapid release strategy across all dependencies, alongside providing support to colleagues in conflict and resolution within the Centre of Competence and across all functions.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll be an expert when it comes to development operations, bringing experience of working with GIT, continuous improvement pipelines and Bash. You’ll have exposure to Cloud-based infrastructures, and will have leaned on Open Source communities and 3rd party vendors in order to develop and integrate large-scale software systems. You’ll have development experience in and wide array of DevOps technologies i.e. (Terraform, AWS, GCP, Pivitol, Ansible, GitLab - Particularly pipeline creation / design, Packer / Va-grant, Jenkins, ELK, Docker etc..)
Ideally you’ll be proficient in a number of software version control systems and will be able to write scripts in Python or Perl to automate software build activities. Experience of working within the automotive or manufacturing industry is desirable, as is a degree in software engineering or a related subject.
BENEFITS
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
