Complex Quality, within Global Assembly Plant Quality Operations, is a function based at the JLR Vehicle Manufacturing Plants. The team is responsible for proactively leading quality projects on current and future models, approaching each project with the appropriate quality tool and achieving the respective quality targets whilst delivering to the highest level of customer satisfaction. The role will be primarily based at Castle Bromwich and occasional travel may be required to JLR plants in the UK and other countries.

This position offers a unique opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join an established department within JLR’s Quality Operations team, whose primary focus is on improving vehicle quality through robust problem solving. Jaguar Land Rover vehicles are manufactured to strict build standards in order to guarantee the highest levels of quality for the customer.

As Complex Quality Engineer, you’ll support cross-functional teams within our manufacturing locations to help drive resolution of complex issues that occur during current production. Using a structured approach, you’ll support an appropriate team through a problem solving process, and you’ll see the output of your team’s actions through vehicle quality improvement. There will also be the opportunity to be a part of structured problem solving teams through new vehicle launches. Inputting lessons to new vehicle programs to ensure continuous improvement of the engineering and manufacture of our products will be vital.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll be comfortable under pressure with the ability to understand complex issues and clearly communicate key messages. Your practical experience of Six Sigma Problem Solving will be crucial. Additionally, you’ll be educated to degree level in an appropriate technical or business discipline along with good automotive manufacturing knowledge. You’ll also need enthusiasm, drive, commitment and self-confidence to achieve goals.
