Your primary responsibility will be to provide legal support relating to the procurement of goods and services from Jaguar Land Rover’s varied and global supply base. This is a key in-house role with responsibility for building relationships with internal clients, and advising them on both legal and commercial issues and risks. Candidates should have a desire to understand how JLR’s business operates and the key risk areas affecting those operations.
The role is to be predominately based at our offices in Gaydon, Warwickshire, however you will be required to travel throughout our West Midlands sites so flexibility is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts including professional services contracts, IT agreements, logistics agreements and standard terms and conditions
• Managing your own matters and clients, whilst working as part of a small and busy team
• Providing analysis and counsel on a wide variety of legal and policy issues
• Working with colleagues at all levels to promote and ensure that both legal and operational policies and procedures are adhered to.
Key Relationships:
• Work as a part of a small legal team whilst also liaising with the wider JLR global legal function
• Close working relationship with internal clients and key stakeholders, such a Purchasing, Finance and Tax teams so as to become their “trusted adviser”
• management of outside counsel as required
The salary range for this role is £40,000 to £60,000 depending on PQE.

What you’ll need:
• Proven experience of advising on commercial contracts
• Qualified solicitor
• Strong private practice background
• In house experience (desirable)
• Ability to think laterally and provide legal advice which is relevant and tailored to commercial risks
• Personable, a good negotiator and communicator of both written and verbal information
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Confident user with Microsoft Word
• Degree qualified
