WHAT TO EXPECT

Jaguar Land Rover Classic is a business unit that protects, promotes and profits from the history of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. They deliver vehicle re-creations, restorations and servicing, classic vehicle events experiences and supply classic parts through a growing chain of global facilities.

 

The Classic Engineering Department is dedicated to supplying unobtainable parts to the aftermarket, for both Jaguar and Land Rover products. We are also responsible for signing-off the engineering content of component and vehicle projects to ensure Classic deliver to the highest quality possible.

 

As Classic CAD Engineer you’ll create the CAD models and drawings necessary to support the manufacture of parts for all our aftermarket projects from a variety of different source data, and to liaise with the engineers in the team to aid them in getting the parts manufactured. You’ll be responsible for the modelling and drafting of all varieties of parts from original drawings, scan data, measurement data or from photographs.

 

You’ll manage the ODEC staff to deliver offshore work and also support with checking, of the Drawings of your colleagues’ work to ensure accuracy. Additionally, you’ll identify critical and significant characteristics and annotate them on drawings, to create documentation suitable for our suppliers and STA to carry out PPAP and have involvement in CAD reviews of parts and assemblies to help spot issues ahead of manufacture.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have Catia V5 and Teamcentre formal training, along with recent experience. You’ll also have experience of drafting to a high standard for component manufacture and an understanding of historic units/thread sizing.

 

A relevant degree is preferred along with practical knowledge of Classic cars and Jaguar Land Rover history. A broad knowledge of engineering and manufacturing techniques and processes is prefered.
