Job description

LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire

ADVERTISED SALARY: £35,000 - £40,000

An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.

WHAT TO EXPECT

It’s not every day you come across high-performance versions of existing models, luxury bespoke commissions, heritage models or individually tailored vehicles that set pulses racing. Unless you join us at Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations (SO).

Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) are a key part of the SO organisation delivering Special Products that amplify our core brand values in Ultimate Luxury (SVAutobiography), Ultimate Sports Performance (SVR) and Ultimate All-Terrain Capability (SVX).

As a Chassis Wheel Engineer you’ll be required to support major SVO programmes to deliver lightweight forged and cast wheels. This role will see you draw on your experience of taking complex alloy wheel commodities through the technical gateway process from initial concept to production as you work in small teams and with other functions within Jaguar Land Rover.

In addition to delivering wheel commodities, you’ll lead problem resolution sessions and reach compatible cross-functional solutions by taking advantage of your flexible work approach. You’ll need to be able to work on and lead a varying degree of Jaguar Land Rover chassis products if required, and you’ll have the capacity develop a close working relationship with key suppliers. You’ll also contribute towards supplier selection.

Finally, you’ll report out technical issues in key technical meetings, ensuring components hit key engineering requirements and programme targets. Part of your work will also involve managing the resolution of quality issues identified by internal and external indicators.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

You’ll have a proficient level of knowledge of cast and/or forged wheel development, testing and processes. A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience for the role will be essential, as will experience in chassis component or system delivery. In addition, you’ll require excellent team-working skills and be a good communicator and presenter to all levels. You’ll also know how to make use of your data analysis and PC skills, including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Ideally, you’ll come to this role with knowledge of Jaguar Land Rover engineering release and change management systems or equivalent as well as a minimum Class 2 + GPA driving licence. Though not essential, rounding out your skill set with experience of problem-solving tools and the ability to lead problem resolution initiatives will see a successful application for this role.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.

Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
