LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire

WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Launch Engineer, you’ll work with the Supplier Technical Management (STM) division of our Tooling and Press Parts group (T&PPG), which leads on supplied part process systems development to consistently produce high-quality and capable parts in the delivery of new model product programmes across all car programmes for complex parts/sub-assembly systems.

The role will involve the strategy of sourcing complex panels and assemblies on new vehicle programmes from external suppliers, playing a vital role in the whole product development and delivery process of body-in-white (BiW) pressed parts whilst supporting the Launch team with part plans therefore ensuring the integrity, quality, and quantity of tools and process parts expected for programme requirements. You’ll report directly to the STM Programme Manager and will be responsible for assisting STM tooling engineers and nominated suppliers through build maturation phases.

Day to day, you’ll support the resolution of issues ensuring feedback through to toolmakers and suppliers to the product development teams, and you’ll also collate supplier quality-related inputs for projects ensuring all teams update feasibility status as part of new tooling reporting metrics. Finally, you’ll assist with all pre-production build launch events and ensure feedback is captured and escalated, as well as making certain that the production facilities understand their ownership.

WHAT YOUL’LL NEED

Although your experience will be just as important, you’ll ideally be degree-qualified and hold demonstrable experience in a press tool-making or body construction environment, gained preferably within a manufacturing engineering or quality function. As well as experience in the tool manufacture and development process, you’ll need to be able to show evidence of having managed and delivered tooling programmes. In this role, you’ll need to be able to operate with a high level of self-sufficiency and work effectively across all levels of the organisation.

BENEFITS

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
