WHAT TO EXPECT

When it comes to the future, our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team is planning it today. Regularly working up to three years ahead of production, they help translate, plan and implement Product Development outputs into vehicle manufacture, transforming our ambitious plans into tangible and exhilarating realities.
From the luxuriously agile Jaguar F-TYPE to the innovative CX-17, our vehicles – famed for the revolutionary technologies they employ – are amongst some of the most desired and revered in the world today. Your constant challenge, working as part of our diverse and multi-skilled AME team, will be to ensure our iconic brands continue to captivate the world tomorrow.

Body in White (BiW) Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) is a major department responsible for all new manufacturing processes and facilities for Body Assembly. They also work closely with Product Design to ensure that our products are both feasible and efficient for manufacture. The department operates at the leading edge of technology using all types of robotics, automation systems, complex jigs/fixtures and many hot and cold joining techniques. For that reason many of the projects delivered are highly capital intensive and require careful cost management.

As Body In White Engineer, you’ll work closely with Product Design to turn engineering into feasible manufacturing solutions for assembly. You’ll provide engineering and technical support to design, develop, and implement manufacturing production processes to enable successful launch of new products. You’ll also ensure feasibility of all designs to suit manufacturing build requirements, Design for Assembly (DFA) and alignment to the Bill of Process (BOP). Finally, you’ll be supporting the planning, development, and implementation of manufacturing production processes and tooling facilities that meet our quality, volume, and cost targets.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Alongside experience of Manufacturing and Engineering processes, tools, and techniques, you’ll also have experience of consistent delivery of productivity targets in a Manufacturing environment.  Experience in Launch in manufacturing would be desirable, as would experience of Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity and tooling design.

A results driven individual, you’ll have the ability to deliver operational plans in a highly demanding environment. You’ll be able to prioritise effectively, using your resilience and enthusiasm to facilitate strong communication.

With strong computer skills, you’ll also need experience in the application of a logical approach to problem solving.

Having experience and working knowledge of Health and Safety Audits and ergonomics including risk assessments would be desirable, along with an understanding of Statistical Process control and control plans. Furthermore knowledge of Integrated Production System, Quality Operating system and audit compliance would also be desirable.
