WHAT TO EXPECT
This team is one of the most experienced of its type in the UK and has the knowledge and talent to hold its own against the best body engineers anywhere in the world. From iconic body styling to interior detail, from doors and windows to whole-cabin systems, everything about our vehicles has to be perfect – this is what customers expect from a luxury brand. This is also what this team makes happen. Join them, and you’ll help us to stay at the forefront of vehicle innovation and research and to build on our position as a highly competitive brand in a highly competitive marketplace.
In this role, you'll be responsible for all project management of all body-in-white(BiW) prototype panel manufacture, ensuring parts are delivered on time and to the correct quality standard, Q loops, and supporting company programme timing plans and objectives. You'll develop a BiW prototype strategy for all major panels within budget constraints, liaising with other functions such as Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, the Tooling and Pressed Parts group, and Construction and Dimensional Management (DMA, DMBI). Part of this work will also involve interfacing with BiW Working-Level Process Chain meetings as well as providing support in driving the bill of materials (BoM) generation and part-releasing profile against the VPP timing plan. You’ll also report prototype quality and delivery status.
In addition, you'll be responsible for establishing prototype budget costs and communicating to programme teams. Within this, you’ll be obtaining, interrogating, and negotiating quotes with the Project Engineer and Purchasing from external suppliers.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As the successful candidate for this position, you’ll possess detailed knowledge of BiW design, quality, tolerances, and GD&T, and have the capability to follow processes and procedures for the programme bill of material (BoM). As part of the job requires influencing and coaching a wide variety of multi-functional interfaces including both internal and external suppliers, it is essential that you’ll be a strong communicator across various levels of the organisation. Ideally, you’ll be educated to a degree level, but this is not essential.
BENEFITS
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
