WHAT TO EXPECT

 

As a Battery Build Fitter you’ll be working exclusively within the Powertrain Test Operations (PT8) team which is primary responsible for producing & supplying prototype HV batteries to our internal customers. You’ll provide expert support to the battery development engineering teams for battery modifications & investigations. Within your role you’ll be assisting Manufacturing Engineering to create efficient processes for our mainstream production lines.

 

You’ll be responsible for the assembly of HV Battery Packs and their associated components. You’ll have the ability to repair & replace battery components including; Modules, Busbars & BECM. Within your role you’ll be preparing & testing battery packs on our prototype fleet, including the fitting of various instrumentation.

 

You’ll demonstrate safe working practices at all times in line with the company’s ‘destination zero’ policies and you’ll understand the responsibility for yourself and others in the workplace.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Like us, you’re passionate about quality and process improvement. Your ability to carry out fault diagnostics and resolve problems will be fundamental to achieving your objectives. On top of this, you'll hold a recognised automotive apprenticeship, or a level 3 automotive qualification alongside experience and knowledge of working with 12 volt electricity would be an advantage.

 

You’ll be collaborative by nature, will support others, and will have a ‘can do, will do’ attitude, to ensure that the workflow targets are met.  Previous experience within a similar role is desirable, however not essential combined with your advanced vehicle skills will be key to success within this role.  You must also hold a full UK driving licence.
