SALARY: £37,900 - £49,300

END DATE: 20/06/18

This role is also eligible for other additional allowances base salary

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Suspension. Engine mounts. Wheels and tyres. To provide an exceptional driving experience, every chassis component needs be honed to perfection. That takes all kinds of people, from designers to project managers.

 

Our Suspension Systems Integration team is responsible for ensuring the overall system integration and compatibility of the axle concepts into the target vehicles. This includes overall package compatibility, meeting attribute targets, calculation and management of suspension and power unit mounting design loads, as well as leading the system Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), geometry hard point releases and wheel alignment.

 

As the Axle Systems Multi-Body Systems (MBS) Engineer you’ll deliver specific Chassis Loads methods, develop automated CAE tools and perform investigations into vehicle programme loads issues. You’ll use SIMPACK, MATLAB and other CAE tools to deliver process improvement projects and ensure timely delivery to agreed plans.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As an experienced engineer you’ll show a strong working knowledge of Loads Analysis processes, Road Load Data (RLD) collection and analysis methods, including the use of fatigue software for predicting vehicle and component damage. You’ll also bring a strong mathematical aptitude, paired with an understanding of engineering principles.

 

As well as being confident in the use of SIMPACK, MATLAB or similar software, you’ll also have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Finally you’ll be a driven, motivated and organised individual with the ability to work under minimum supervision.
