ADVERTISED SALARY: £35,500-£50,000

This role is also eligible for other additional allowances to base salary.

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Using state-of-the-art facilities, you’ll provide the power behind our vehicles working in our Powertrain Engineering team. You'll find the ideal balance between performance and sustainability while responding to the environmental issues that shape our industry.

Working in partnership with the main supplier, with which Jaguar Land Rover do c.£1 billion turnover per annum to establish more robust development and management processes, the team work directly alongside locations in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

 

As Resident Project Engineer you’ll have responsibility for liaising with the main suppliers, project delivery team, ensuring projects are progressing in accordance with our gateway deliverables; by clearly defining requirements and delivery expectations and ensuring the suppliers project delivery team’s plans are aligned with our Jaguar Land Rover requirements.

 

Ensuring technical discussions between Jaguar Land Rover and the project delivery team are clearly articulated in both directions; our requirements are clearly understood and that the project delivery team’s responses and questions are both understood and responded to promptly. These technical discussions will cover all aspects of the automatic transmission from internal gearsets and clutches to software and calibration of these features.

 

As part of this role you’ll be in a long term International Service Placement and will be administered in accordance with the standard ISE policies. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll have a comprehensive knowledge of Powertrain systems and understanding of the Automatic Transmission system together with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.

 

In addition, you’ll have experience of or the ability to learn rig and vehicle diagnostic tool sets (ASL/ Corvus/ INCA/ CANalyzer); able to demonstrate high levels of motivation; and the ability to operate successfully within a supplier environment who are geographically remote from the main Jaguar Land Rover engineering teams.
