WHAT TO EXPECT
The Jaguar Land Rover Product lifecycle management (PLM) programme team is responsible for all aspects of PLM toolset selection, implementation, use and support. The team is employed to replace a complex array of legacy systems inherited as part of the separation from Ford. The focus is to move Jaguar Land Rover Engineering Operations out of their current toolsets and move them into a PLM suite which will open opportunities for more efficient delivery of our vehicle programmes delivery great products faster to our customers.
The Cross Function Team are responsible in delivering technical solutions across various work streams covering functional capabilities in areas such as Bill of Material, Change Management, Materials & Compliance, plus many more based on requirements the solutions will need to satisfy.
As Application Engineer you’ll support the delivery of projects and their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies. You’ll be responsible for the planning, co-ordination, and delivery of specific projects within the PLM team.
You’ll work on projects and work streams from scoping to delivery and your role will include cross-functional engagement and stakeholder management to ensure project delivery to required timescale, quality, and cost targets. You’ll also be working with the operational business to understand current processes and to document and prioritise requirements for changes and additions.
Part of your role will be to manage stakeholders to ensure projects add value and are aligned to stakeholder expectations and you’ll be responsible for managing required Governance, including milestone reporting, project status reporting, financial reporting, and risk and issue management.
In addition to all this, you’ll deliver projects utilising project management techniques to ensure the delivery and achievement of planned outcomes to support the achievement of strategic business objectives within PLM.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As an experienced Application Engineer you’ll hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Able to work on multiple tasks in parallel, you’re able to balance priorities and workload to suit project priorities. You’ll need previous experience of working on PLM programmes and of project management, and you’ll have a proven record of delivery and a methodical detailed approach to work.
You’ll be able to demonstrate an array of analytical skills to help identify how one issue can impact on another, and will be able to put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base. Finally, you’ll need the ability to present complex data and issues to a varied audience along with experience of Problem Resolution using structured approaches.
