An ever-evolving heritage. A truly exciting future. Two of the world’s most iconic brands. Jaguar Land Rover is revered across the globe. Continually pushing the boundaries of innovation and redefining the benchmark for excellence, we set the standards others want to follow. We want to keep it that way too. Which is where you join the journey.
LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire
WHAT TO EXPECT
It’s not every day you come across high-performance versions of existing models, luxury bespoke commissions, heritage models, or individually tailored vehicles that set pulses racing. Unless you join us at Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).
Dreams are flawless, sheer perfection filled with desires and unimaginable aspirations beyond one’s reach. Dreams are what SVO stands for. We’re not looking for the everyday makers; we’re on the search for Dream Makers to join our journey.
Working within the SVO Advanced Product Creation (APC) team, you'll be responsible for translating marketing and design aspirations into 'engineered' vehicle architectures, primarily within the low-volume segment of the premium automotive market.
You'll ideally possess in-depth knowledge of at least one of the major systems within a vehicle such as body, chassis, electrical, or powertrain engineering. You'll need to be able to interact with experts from all these disciplines to manage and resolve the cross-functional engineering challenges associated with the development of new vehicles.
You'll be working to define and develop vehicle concepts to a stage of proven design and manufacturing feasibility against defined programme gateways. This role is high profile within SVO, and you'll be working with and presenting your work to managers and engineers at all levels across the business.
In your role you’ll lead the SVO vehicle and engineering teams on programmes in the Pre-Programme Strategy confirmed phase as well as ensure high level program targets and aspirations are in place including relevant statement of intent and vignettes. You’ll ensure the core architecture and systems are specified, agreed and capable of delivering these targets including any unique SVO requirements.
You’ll be responsible for system architecture 1 pagers and red book input as well as lead technical resolution of cross functional issues in the early phase to ensure the correct balance of customer requirements and business needs.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As the APC Architecture Engineer, you’ll have worked in an engineering environment and have a history of dealing with whole-vehicle engineering issues. Ideally, you’ll be familiar with Teamcenter and VisMockUp, and it is essential you’ll have previous experience of APC, the Product Creation Delivery System, and all engineering planning and delivery processes.
It is likely you'll be qualified to a degree level or have significant experience of the engineering challenges associated with new vehicle development, including vehicle performance targets, packaging constraints, weight targets, design feasibility, and manufacturing feasibility. Alongside your technical knowledge, you'll possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the drive to meet demanding deadlines.
BENEFITS
Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan, and a performance-related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
