Your constant challenge, working as part of our diverse and multi-skilled Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team, will be to ensure our iconic brands continue to captivate the world tomorrow.
The Advanced Manufacturing Construction team is an integral part of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), effectively aligning technology, programme and business functions in the delivery of construction, engineering and project management services across the full spectrum of Jaguar Land Rover, with the focus to deliver world class facilities. We provide a comprehensive service to the business, delivering major and general infrastructure projects in the UK and abroad in the support of the manufacturing engineering teams in the development and introduction of new and modified processes associated with new model introductions and model year changes.
As a Construction Engineer, you’ll be ensuring the robust development of new project proposals, designs concepts and programmes from strategic intent with controlled maturity throughout the entire project lifecycle on our production facilities. This will be a critical management, expertise and stakeholder relationship role within the business and you’ll be delivering your own general works or will be working within a team under the direction of a Lead Engineer on large complex projects. Focus of the role will be in planning, budgeting and managing projects carried out on site across all Jaguar Land Rover production facilities. Meeting with stakeholders to establish a project brief and agree a method of works and establishing and maintain expert client relations. You’ll be establishing a robust timing plan for individual packages of works, demonstrating how these will fit in around Jaguar Land Rover activities along with liaising with relevant staff to ensure that all necessary parties are notified of the works, controlling works on site, through regular visits and audits. Furthermore you’ll be representing the AME Construction department at meetings, and provide an educated opinion when required, offer support, facilitate new process and standards embedment, monitor compliance, whilst ensuring contextual feedback and learning is absorbed back in to business systems.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
To be successful in this role it is essential that you have experience of working within a live manufacturing environment and have technical experience in construction and engineering works. You’ll need to have strong communication skills and an ability to listen and interpret information and a proven track record of working as part of a team and be results orientated with a focus on delivering against a clear set of objectives. Ideally you’ll be educated to Degree level in a Construction or Engineering discipline and having a good knowledge of MS Office Applications and AutoCAD skills are also desirable.
This role will require you to be flexible in both working hours and on occasions, site location, therefore you’ll need to have a full UK driving licence.
