WHAT TO EXPECT

Working within the Vehicle Engineering and Attributes function, that is responsible for the delivery of Thermal, Aerodynamic and All Weather Comfort and Vision (AWC&V) requirements for all Jaguar Land Rover vehicle programmes as well as the development of associated tool-sets. The Aerodynamic attribute requirements include the delivery of targets for aerodynamic drag, lift and lateral aerodynamic loads.  The team also provides body panel and component loading analysis.  This is achieved through development of upper body design, underbody smoothing, lift management and drag reduction technologies. The AWC&V attribute delivers vision, visibility and system functionality through external water management and soiling reduction. Development tools used within Thermal and Aerodynamic Systems Engineering (TASE) function include CFD (PowerFLOW and UH3D), CAE (Radtherm), aerodynamic and water management wind tunnel testing at both MIRA and FKFS. The Thermal Attribute delivers heat management, cooling performance and thermal protection using both CAE and physical testing (CWT and HET) both in the UK and on overseas test.

This new role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work with the respective vehicle architecture teams and enable them to use a range of aerodynamic post processing tools and CAE using virtual computation fluid dynamics (CFD) methodologies together with physical wind tunnel and on-track assessment to cover a large variety of aerodynamic and soiling related problems. The role is varied and allows the successful candidate to demonstrate their technical and planning skills together with their ability to resolve issues with a customer mind-set.
